What does it mean to achieve?
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/achieve

transitive verb (has a direct object)

1:  to carry out successfully : accomplish <achieve a gradual increase in production>

2:  to get or attain as the result of exertion : reach <achieveda high degree of skill> <achieved greatness>

intransitive verb (does not have a direct object)

:  to attain a desired end or aim : become successful

My Paraphrase:  To get what one desires, preferably without stepping on others in the process.

(I prefer the intransitive definition, leaving it simply as a desire, rather than the transitive definition of desiring an object.)
